November 5th, 2023 – Weston Bend State Park to Home

Another restful sleep and no more archaic Daylight Saving Time when we woke up this morning. Now if it would just stay that way…

After looking at the weather last night and this morning I decided to just go back home instead of heading elsewhere. It’s not that the weather will be bad; it will actually be pretty nice out and I really need to get some things done outside before winter. I’m gonna take this opportunity to do that.

It was a fun weekend and a good time was had by all. We’re already looking forward to the next trip and they are already asking where we’re going next!

I passed along a few other travel websites & apps to them that might be of interest for future trips. There are several out there but many are useless junk. However there are a few good ones.

They got their shakedown trip in and as always it’s a learning process and it’s why we do those kind of trips. It’s a chance to get familiar with things but close enough in case you need something unforeseen or overlooked. We did have a good lesson.

We both are going to get a 5-gallon water jug for emergency use. They were running a bit low on water yesterday and we had to improvise; it was either that or hook the trailer up to drive 200 feet to get water. They made it through okay with what we did. A water jug would have been very handy and would save a trip.

It was also a good way to think about how you use things like water, propane and such. We’ve all learned those things at some point. Getting those things dialed in will make life easier in the future.

That’s it for now.

Shawn
