Stuff – September 6th, 2017

Tomorrow is our season-end party at work. This year’s bash has a theme – we are doing breakfast instead of grilling burgers on the gas grill! It’s a potluck so everyone is bringing something.

I am going to throw together some biscuits with eggs, turkey back, turkey sausage, and four, yes, FOUR – kinds of cheese, and tater tots. No, it’s NOT a sandwich. I am going to bake the goodies inside the biscuits. This is an experiment so I hope it works out! If not I can blame the internet. I am planning on taking a bottle of 44 North Huckleberry Vodka, too, so I got it covered. I am considering a tater tot breakfast hot dish to take along as an extra dish but we’ll see.

It’s another hot, dry, and smoky day but some relief from the heat is in sight. Just a slight chance of precipitation is in the forecast so we all have our fingers crossed for that as well as the winds calming down and the fire danger subsiding. The air quality just sucks and I have seen a few people wearing masks over their nose and mouth. It is a strange, sepia-colored tint outside due to all the smoke.

The big one in Oregon was apparently started by a group of kids playing with fireworks, lighting them and dropping them in the canyon along the Columbia River Gorge east of Portland. Little bastards. Their identities are know from what I have seen in the news and I really hope there is no leniency. It was deliberate.

Not much else going on right now. I have been enjoying my new internet, playing with my Apple TV box and watching different programs and movies. The time-shift TV thing is a bit weird for me after spending many years in the TV field and seeing so many changes in the last 20 years. At least there is something I can keep occupied with while avoiding the bad air outside.
