A Personal Thought

Since I started this blog I have had a few devoted followers (and I thank you all very much). One was my mom, who was there from day one until she died in 2016 (fuck you, cancer). Another one was my Aunt Sharon.

“Auntie” as I jokingly called her was a wonderful human being. Fun, funny, caring, loving…a cheery person to be around. Sharon was like another mom to me in that she and my mom were quite similar in many ways. They both laughed a lot and were always fun to be around. They could both be the life of the party without drinking a drop. They always had a big hug for you and brightened up the room when they entered.

I got the sad news a few days ago that she had left this mortal coil. Unfortunately, it had been some time since I had last seen her. Living out of state over the last nearly 30 years I just didn’t see the people I knew as often. Even after I returned to the area a while back I still have not seen many people.

Just like my mom, I will miss her just as much.

I wish you peace on your journey, Sharon. I’ll really miss you.

Shawn
