I just saw an article this afternoon that said it was 55 years ago today, on 30th January 1969, that The Beatles performed their last concert on the rooftop of the Apple Records building in London.
It made me think about that first trip and seeing that building on my first trip over to Europe in 2018 and I remember it well. My travel partner knew someone there who took us on a grand tour that day, walking about 13 miles around London to different points of music history. I went back through my pictures and found something interesting and very cool along with those memories.

Being a music nerd, it is a pretty cool coincidence that we had no idea that we just happened to be there on the 49th anniversary of that legendary concert! What are the odds of that happening? If only we had been there 49 years earlier…
If you would like to see more pictures of that trip it was in the last week of January and the first week of February. Obviously you can look at 30 January to see this particular day and all that we saw and did. Along those lines, the second trip over was early February of 2020. You can search my posts and have a look at these and other trips and adventures!

Airfares are getting pretty good – even better than before and it’s no wonder that the travel predictions are looking at records. I thought there were some good deals the last few weeks but in the last 24 hours I have gotten some email deals that were pretty outstanding. It’s hard to resist the temptation but I have other priorities I need to take care of first.
Another thing to look at if you are wanting to travel is there are now more options available for night trains in Europe, and more are on the way. I hope to do that at some point as it is a pretty economical and time-saving way to travel. Get an “open-jaw” airline ticket (fly into one city and out of another) and use the train to travel between the two cities. You can even stop along the way.
Many travelers use open-jaw ticketing and it really makes your trip better. it is a different way to travel but easily adjusted to. We did not do that on the first trip but did on the second one and that was a real time saver. It was really helpful since we were on such
In all honesty, the first trip was really pretty good. We started in Amsterdam, went to Ireland, Scotland and London. We hopped the Eurostar under the Channel and resumed our adventure on the continent. We did a big loop through Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. We went through a different part of Belgium to Amsterdam to get back to where we once belonged via Iceland. We saw and did so much and it felt as if we used our time wisely.
I will be using that method as much as I can when I fly someplace. The thing about it is it does add pressure on YOU to get to your departing city and catch your flight back. It’s not difficult and just takes a little bit of planning if you’re winging it on your adventure and just going where you end up – like the last half of our first trip.

It is SO nice to finally see the sun; it’s been a long and lonely winter. It really helps with the moods and gives that warmth only the sun can offer. It’s good to have the warmer temperatures as well and I am looking forward to not freezing my ass off again for a while.
But, in six months’ time we’ll be ragging about the heat.

I finally got a back-up camera for my trailer. I have towing mirrors on my truck but the camera will be so much better as it’s not only for backing up but to make sure I can move back over after passing someone.
It also has a backup camera that mounts on the license plate. My truck is a 2003 so it has no fancy stuff like today’s cars; no cameras, no good stereo, no trailer brake (had to go aftermarket) but also no electrical issues or electronics failures. Plusses & minuses.
I am anxious to get it all hooked up for my next trip. It will make trailer-life so much easier and safer. The license plate camera will be handy for hooking up a trailer plus seeing what is behind me when backing up without the trailer. It may not seem like much to many of you but this is the first time I have ever had this stuff in a car.

That’s all I have for now. Thanks for checking out my blog.
