What’s a place you visited that felt like home?

Without any doubt, the first place would have been the mountains of Colorado. The magic of the mountains was special from my earliest memories, and when I got to live in Colorado for all those years it was a dream come true. It will always be a place deep in my heart and a place that I love deeply.

It took a little bit to get used to Washington after leaving Colorado but I do love it there and miss it as well. It was a different lifestyle than Colorado in some ways (the ocean), but similar in others.

Otherwise, I have been all over this country but I have never been anywhere else in the US that felt remotely like home – not even close.

I do love Europe quite a lot as you know if you have been on this blog journey with me. I really liked everywhere I have visited so far, but one place stands out.

Ireland.

Ireland is a wonderful place full of wonderful people and beautiful scenery. When I am there I get a pretty powerful feeling inside that I am where I belong. I am home.

When I think about it a little more in depth, there are some things I found myself saying “…huh…” to. My mom’s side of the family has roots in Colorado, The Netherlands (which I also love) & Germany and my dad’s side comes from Ireland & Germany.

I guess it is no wonder I love and have a deep connection to both Ireland and Colorado.
