…okay…one more. I bought a camper shell for my truck today.

It was a metallic gray ARE shell at half the price of the one I had been looking at. It looks a bit odd at first but it’s okay and for me it is strictly function over form anyhoo; it is a dry, somewhat-secure place for my stuff and my dogs. They had it on the lot for a while and offered me $200 off and a free install so I went for it. I was not sure if I wanted to do it or not but I felt it is a necessity to haul the camping things for the trailer that I need and they will be dry & safe and keep my truck cleaner inside. And, if the dogs are muddy then they get the bed muddy and not the inside. If the color starts to wear on me I could get it repainted at some point, but I really do not dislike it; at least it is not red, yellow or blue – THAT would be ridiculous. And the gray wheels kind of offset it even though they are darker.

My Avalanche had a locking cover over the bed and the back seat could even fold down so you could haul several full sheets of plywood flat and dry. Mainly, though, it was a secure place to keep stuff and having a smaller truck really cuts into that storage. Today I fixed the problem.

Sorry…had to share my excitement. This has become one of my favorite vehicles that I have ever owned.
