March 15th, 2026 – Crikey!;

I am so glad I moved the trailer in front of the garage to block the wind. It is just howling out there tonight. I am staying nice & warm without the furnace running constantly. The temperatures started out at 63° F this morning, but dropped nearly 30° F in about four hours or so as the wind shifted to coming from the north. It is pretty cold with the winds blowing like they are.

I got the dogs out a few times today to squat, run and stretch but it is just too cold to do much. They ran over to the trailer like we were gonna party, but I am trying to not let them in unless it gets too cold. I brushed them a little a couple of days ago and got some loose hair out; I figured they would end up in here with me at some point so I got the brush out & did some hair removal.

It is a bit different being in the trailer again, but I am getting back into the “routines” fairly quickly. I have been putting away the groceries I got yesterday and shifting a couple of things around to pack the food/coffee/tea cabinet better. I got a package of ready-to-bake salted caramel chocolate chip cookies so I might bake a couple in the next few days. I gotta clean a few things off the stove for the oven vent so I don’t catch the place on fire.

One thing I do in the trailer is I will put some things on the bed, then at night I move them onto the dinette bench to clear the bed. Things like a sweatshirt or jacket, dishpans, and other things used often that I do not need a place to put them away in. Many places and things serve multiple purposes – the bath mat goes in the tub while traveling, shampoo & soap come off the shower shelf and into the hanging shower bag, etc.

I still have a few meal prep things in the freezer, but I am going to need to start cooking before too long. Cooking inside is a hassle with very little kitchen space but you just need to adapt and do the best you can. This is why it is nice to prep as much as you can fit in the fridge/freezer when you have the opportunity, like at a campground when the weather is decent enough to cook outdoors plus you will probably have water & a dumpster for cleanup.

When I finally figure out what I am doing I am considering adding a second battery for my solar panels. That would double my power storage and would be really nice. Sometime later tomorrow or Tuesday I will be looking at a propane refill, but with the wind blocked and the furnace running it is really saving propane. I will check it in the morning just out of curiosity; I checked it yesterday and the tank it is running on has very little gone. There is a full tank on the other side so there is no danger of running out. It was snowing sideways a few minutes ago and it is going to be slick in the morning so I won’t be going anywhere for a while – if at all – tomorrow.

All that could change if we are closing.

🤣

I am headed for bed. See you again soon.

Shawn
