I found this big-ass wine glass at a thrift store today for $5 and you certainly understand that I had to have it. It is the biggest wine glass I have ever seen so I could not let it just sit there on the shelf, now could I?
I have not used it yet but I did pick up some wine today. I grabbed two bottles to share with some friends and I grabbed a bottle of this:

I have seen this before in the stores, but I saw it on a PBS wine/food pairing show and decided I need to give it a try after they used it in a pairing. I thought it was a pretty good wine. This is a bold, but somehow light-bodied semi-dry wine from (obviously) Portugal. It’s not overly fruity but it does have a nice balance.

These short days are getting pretty damn old. We lose about 15 minutes of daylight a week after Summer Solstice. That means we will lose about another 45 minutes of daylight total until Winter Solstice. After the start of Winter we gain 15 minutes a week so in a few months we will start to see a difference.
It’s a good thing I get outside to get things done early!

That’s it for now. Thanks for checking out my blog. Until next time…
