The past few days I’ve been getting the trailer ready for another trip. So far, I’m not sure where I will end up or how long I will be out. I only know I’m starting out in Weston Bend State Park near Weston, MO.
I posted about the area a few months back when I took a day trip there for a hike and to revisit it and the area after many, many years. This adventure starts here with Dave & Lori’s inaugural trailer voyage. The weather is looking decent – still cool at night but in the 40s instead of teens and 20s and nice days.
I made up some of those date snacks that taste like a Snickers bar. I put a couple of cashews inside medjool dates and rolled in chocolate. Healthier than a Snickers but tastes the same.

I ended up packing a variety of frozen things in the trailer freezer; cleaning out the house fridge and eating up some good stuff and all while camping. Winning!

Speaking of Winning!, how about this? Take one medical supply shipping/Omaha Steaks cooler…

Cut a hole in the side…

Add a bladder from your favorite boxed wine…

Pull the spout into the cutout…

Cover with ice packs and put the lid back on. Voila! A wine party cube!
Seemed like a brilliant idea.
It’s supposed to be a really nice weekend so I thought it best to come over earlier to snag the family site for us. Just since I got here there’s been five new sites occupied. I think it’s gonna be busy this weekend so the trails will be crowded. We didn’t save much on a double site but at least we can be together.
I got the trailer set up and disconnected from the truck and after I got the dogs on their cables it was time for dinner. Smoked chicken, mac & cheese and a Guinness 0.
Then, a mug of red and some TV.
That’s all I have for now.
