Coffee, cauliflower, dogs, vaccines. Mmmm coffee…

I just read another article about the benefits of drinking coffee the past few days. The study seems to have even better results than other studies before. They are saying it helps cardiovascular health, reduces chances of disease like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and also helps fight inflammation. I am liking what I am hearing.

I do miss coffee quite a bit, but recently I’ve been starting my day with a cup of decaf Irish Breakfast tea. It’s not the same for sure, but it’s a warm cup in the morning to start the day with. I do like hot tea but it’s just not the same as a nice espresso.

After reading this article I have had enough. I was given the okay by my cardiologist for that (and a few other things I like) but I thought I’d go without it for a while. So today, when stopping at the store for something I broke down and got a small bag of coffee. I really liked this coffee before so I thought a sampler would get me by until I can get some beans to bring up. It’s not Sumatra coffee but it’ll be just fine in the Moka pot tomorrow morning while sitting outside enjoying it.

A couple of years ago I found this great snack in Costco. It a dried/roasted cauliflower snack and it is delicious. It is a fairly healthy, very savory snack and the sodium is very low. It’s a very tasty way to get some veggies

I ordered a pack of four bags: two original, one each of white cheddar and buffalo ranch (got some heat!). These small bags are about 1.4 ounces and a bag is a full serving. Total sodium? Less than 200 milligrams, low on calories. They are not bland and nothing you would ever expect to be so good. They are from Rhythm Foods.

I have ended up bringing home a pack mate for Rider. Her name is Rumor. She is another Aussie and has little bitty legs like a Corgi. I think they will be good for each other. It’s weird having another dog around but this dog (well, Rider too) just loves me. I have always liked this dog and thought she was a sweetheart. I guess be careful what you wish for!

I got my flu shot today but still waiting on my ‘rona shot. I cannot find the Moderna one anywhere at the moment. I know you can swap the Pfizer shot but I’m sticking with a winner; it’s kept me from getting it (along with me taking a lot of precautions still). That crazy science…so full of facts.

I think the flu shot is wearing me down though. I don’t ever recall having any reaction to the flu shot before but I think this is what is happening. It happened to someone else I know as well. Good thing I didn’t get my ‘rona shot or I just might have fallen asleep driving.

That’s about all I can muster right now. Think I might go to bed. Yes, already.

Enjoy your evening/day…wherever you are!
