March 13th, 2026 – 🤦🏼‍♂️; One Last Trailer Adjustment; Dogs

Well…another night camping in the driveway. Actually, it will be a few more nights camping in the driveway. Still waiting on their mortgage company, which I find odd since they were pre-approved. Frustrated but trying to be patient – can’t do much about the situation so I am getting some relaxing in and getting things sorted in the trailer a little more.

Realtor said it is now probably going to happen next week but we are still at the mercy of their mortgage company. He is also not happy with how this is going but we cannot do anything else.

The only thing is the weather. Since the snow is almost out of the forecast it helps quite a bit, but it is dangerous to tow when it is windy. I think things will work out to go the route I wanted to go.

🥶

The weather coming in over this weekend is going to be cold (below zero wind chills), but it looks like they are pulling back on the precipitation at least for around here. Unfortunately, the cold & more wind are still on the menu. It has been very windy and a large tree branch in the front yard broke off in the wind. Looks like the new owners have some good firewood to harvest.

Tomorrow will be low 70s so I will be moving the trailer over in front of the garage to block the frosty northerly breezes. While it is hooked up to move I will take the opportunity to reset the trailer brake controller. I accidentally bumped it last year and it is really touchy now so I need to try to get it corrected while I have the time. It’s not like I have much else to do anyway. Many newer vehicles that tow have a controller built in but my truck is old enough they did not have those so mine has an under-the-dash controller I bought when I got my trailer.

Spot-checking the weather along a potential route, it is looking better. I just need to get through this weekend and, of course, finish the closing and I can get some miles in the rearview mirror.

My dogs are confused as to why we are still sitting here. Every time I let them out, they run right to the truck like “What are we waiting for? Let’s go, man!”. They know we are loaded up.

They are spending more time in their kennels and are not used to that. I’m not either so we get out and play Frisbee often and we get exercise that way. Since it will be nice tomorrow we will be outside most of the day. With this cold weather moving in I do not know how warm the garage will be so I may have to give in & let them in the trailer at night. I have had the thermostat at 50 degrees F but will have to turn it up a little to keep it warmer during those really cold nights; that may be enough but I will have to see.

*********

That is about it for now. Se ya next go ‘round.
