Pretty tired after the last few days. It has been very busy and we got a whole lot accomplished. A couple trips to storage, a trip to the dump, cleaning…it has been a real whirlwind.

My cousins were a huge help and I greatly appreciate everything they did. They got to take home some memories in the form of some family items, and we got to catch up on each other’s lives a little after many, many years of only seeing other family members at funerals.

The house is now empty except for a few kitchen items. I have a few more things in the garage for storage and a truckload for the dump. I am now fully moved into the Command Module – my trailer – and it’s my new home for however long. The dogs are in the garage for the next few days. They will not be going in the house anymore and they are not sure what is going on. They do know we are going somewhere and are stressing a little because it isn’t happening yet.

The basement & the house are now both empty & cleaned out. My trailer is probably overpacked a little right now but I will be using the shower and will get the freshwater tank down to about 8-10 gallons for travel to save weight. I will be getting a few storage bins tomorrow to store some blankets & clothes in storage for now to save more weight.

I tossed my mattress on top of the RV mattress so that is a little extra weight on the hitch. I do not know if I can keep it or not and it may have to find somewhere else to be. I may need to cut fresh water back to 4-5 gallons or so – enough to have a little to drink and flush the toilet. I will be looking for any other ways to cut back more weight; it all takes extra fuel and suddenly all the gas in the tanks in the ground went up by $.50/gallon overnight. ‘nuff said.

So I am still waiting on a closing date, but I think I still need until Wednesday. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning then I am getting the tires rotated while I can get an appointment. It will tie up tomorrow pretty badly, but I can get a few last things to storage then load up for the dump on Tuesday. When I get back to the house I will load up the tubs that go in the truck if we are still closing on Wednesday.

Not much of this process is left now.

Well, I just watched the local news and the weather forecast the next few days is not looking too promising, with rain/sleet/snow along routes heading north and going west. If necessary, I could probably use a few extra days around here anyhoo. I can finish up some business while the weather clears.

Well, I am exhausted and I shoulda been in bed an hour ago (thanks, DST). I am gonna get some sleep.
