March 5th, 2026 – Dammit; Woot!; Onward

Well, I was heading to town yesterday and saw yet another cat dead in the road almost a half-mile away. Unfortunately, this was a cool-looking black & white one that had just started coming around here. He looked like a white cat that someone had held him out flat by the legs and dripped the top of his head and back in black paint. We lost many personal pets on that road in front of the house and it is even more congested than it was when I was growing up.

💩💩👍🏼 🛣️🏕️🏔️

The septic is now in! I was on a phone conference this morning when they showed up unannounced, and it was done by the end of the day. I was certainly shocked & relieved and things made a drastic turn today. We have some weather moving in so he wanted to take care of it before that rain happened.

This last dash to the finish line has been frustrating with being so close to being done and things coming up, but we are now the closest we have been and all that is left is for the buyer to sign so I get my proceeds and can be on my northwesterly way.

I got the trailer water system opened & sanitized yesterday morning so today I had to drain, fill to rinse the tank & flush the lines, drain again, fill again. The trailer is now ready to roll on this big adventure. I will have to keep the trailer somewhat warm inside now that the water is open, but come Sunday night I will be living in it anyway. The house will be emptied then and cleaned so I will only be in the house to use the bathroom. The dogs are always ready for a trip someplace and they get so excited when it looks like we are heading out someplace. Oh…we’ll be heading out someplace, alright…on a bigger adventure than just a trip to Aldi!

While the septic was getting installed we worked on getting stuff into the local storage unit. We will take a few more things tomorrow and that will be done. After that a trip to the dump will wrap it up and then the trailer can go back. I will still have a few days to wrap up any loose ends or last minute things even when we (hopefully) still close on time. I will work on getting more of the house moved into the trailer and finish it Sunday.

I am SO damn glad this process is wrapping up.

See ya next time.

Shawn
