February 18th, 2026 – Uh-oh…; Onward

A few days ago I saw an article that was (literally, for me) a little heartbreaking, and I am glad I did see it. It was about the dangers with cardiac patients and altitude. With ,y love of being in the mountains this is bad news I did not want to hear.

With my heart stuff I will need to ask my cardiologist in a few weeks if I have any restrictions on altitude. I subconsciously knew this all along but just never put much thought to it. I also had no strenuous or lengthy exposure to higher altitudes on a regular basis, but I did cross mountain passes a few times after my heart attack and never had ill effects.

I added it to my list of questions I sent ahead of time for my appointment. I always have a list of things to ask and it really helps make the appointment go smoother. I always try to send the list to them ahead of time so they have time to look at my charts and can give me my parameters. Hey…I got a second chance and I am damn sure gonna make the best of it.

Well, it is getting busy with the house. I found out that I need a new roof and we had already signed the contract so I am not sure how this will unfold. I have the last of the inspections tomorrow, and once that is done we can see where things are with that and the roof. We should hopefully have everything figured out within a week if not by the end of this week so we can close on time. Ohh

In the meantime I am still moving forward, trying to think positive about everything and confident we will be able to get this done. My cousin took some more things over the weekend so that helps lighten my workload but there is still plenty to do. I decided to leave my truck parked outside and bring the things from the basement upstairs into the garage to stage. I can see how much storage I will need easier if it is all in one spot in the garage, and it will make hauling it all away to storage faster & easier when the time comes.

I still have things to haul away to the dump and metal to recycle but moving everything enables me to get it all staged in piles to load up as I bring stuff up. I’m sorting out the trash as I go and putting it in a garbage bag.

Those stairs sure get the exercise in too. I did some tracking with a fitness/GPS app and it is surprising how much exercise you get in just walking up & down the stairs moving stuff. I am really getting some full-body exercise in.

I have to leave the house all day for the inspections so I will not know anything for a while. I will be busy running errands all day; I tried to get everything I needed to do lined up for tomorrow and do it since I had to leave the house.

On that note, it’s bedtime. Busy morning before I need to leave. See you next time?
