After contacting the BBB just a few days ago with my Verizon complaint, I just got off the phone from a phone call from the executive offices of Verizon. From what I was told just now, apparently when you are a Verizon customer and you sign an agreement for Verizon service you automatically give them the right to hound you through forwarded addresses even whn you are no longer a customer. What bullshit. She also told me that all the companies do it; funny that I never get mail from AT&T.
If you are interested, I did get a website to go to so you can delete your info from them to stop from harassing you through forwarding. It is: http://www.verizon.com/privacy/your-data. You MUST enter the “www.” or you will get an error.
Once you get on there it is pretty intuitive to figure out what to do. If you have problems figuring it out, probably the best thing to do is call Verizon and tell them you want to talk to someone about getting your data deleted.
Perhaps this info will help someone out. We need to be vigilant about our data since nobody else is.
