How would you design the city of the future?
All low-cost public transit to start with, and pedestrian friendly with plenty of greenspace, walking paths & trails. All restaurants will be local and no tipping allowed because staff will be paid a decent wage. Corner markets every few blocks that you can walk to and get what you need locally from local suppliers or have it brought in through local merchants. No plastic grocery bags – it is easy enough to carry your own bags in (I do it every time I shop). All merchandise, groceries, etc. in environmentally-friendly recyclable packages or, better yet, only bulk packaging and bring your own container – gotta think downstream. No banners, flags, etc. proclaiming one’s religion, politics or their country is number 1…because they aren’t. Every available rooftop with solar and wind power as possible to provide environmentally-friendly energy for everyone because it is responsible. No religion in government or schools because, well, it doesn’t fucking belong there. Mandatory recycling and composting handled by the city for free. Top-notch healthcare without profit. No federal troops.
That’s a good start.
