So a few days ago I made a trip to Lawrence, KS after seeing an article about a couple of stores there.

One store was mostly British stuff, with a few things from other parts of the Isles. I picked up a few things and it’s nice to have a closer place to get things I do use fairly often like Ballymaloe relish and Colman’s mustard.

The other store sold stuff from all over Europe. A cool little store with quite a bit in it and a great selection. I got a few interesting treats. One thing I had to get has been all the rage on the interwebs – it’s usually called a “Dubai chocolate”. It is a chocolate bar filled with a pistachio spread. It is damn delicious.

If anyone would ask me I would say that it is really good chocolate. The filling is so good with the chocolate. It kind of has that grittiness wrapped in smooth. I could say there’s a faint texture comparison with a peanut butter cup made by a fine chocolatier. It is a really good treat to pick up if you see one. This store even had jars of the pistachio filling for sale.

Artificial Intelligence and Content Creation

Every so often I see something interesting about AI. It is an incredible thing and has so much potential for good.

And bad.

But, you cannot worry about that with the prevalence of it everywhere. Some of the things I have seen is editing with AI we have all seen all of the fake videos made. It can do so much.

I really fail to see the point and the websites I have seen made with AI are total garbage. Grammar errors, bad use of language, robot voices…it’s all obvious.

With Apple’s AI there are various tools for creating things and one thing is writing. I could see it as a useful tool for writing professional letters and such, and the various styles are interesting.

However, I would not use anything to write any of my stuff other than my own thoughts. I try to connect on a human level through my writing style and AI is just so “soulless”. I want it to feel like we are face-to-face talking. I type like I talk, and I don’t know if that is possible to mimic.

The issue has never come up but I just wanted to put it out there as there is so much misinformation and BS out there that it is hard to sometimes tell what is real.

Turning it Up to ‘11’ is fine in heavy metal…

…but NOT with the pollen count. This past week has been horrible – levels have been 11+. FFS…I cannot stop sneezing. Eyes are puffy and nose is running. The only way I can get around it is staying inside and that sucks when I have stuff outside I really need to do. Cannot even open the windows due to the pollen even though the temperatures are nice.
