Day two and we have some sunshine today. After a couple of espressos I got the dogs out for a strut. Time for a trip to Jamesport for some Amish baked goods.

I looked around town and met up with Dave & Lori. The stores we went in were “flea market”-type places, with lots of old stuff for sale. I find the older I get the more things I recognize in these places.
Next was a stop in the Country Store, where I got this:

They had other homemade treats and bulk spices & candy along with basic kitchen supplies and a few other pantry items.
Next door was the bakery…how could I not?

I bought a gooseberry hand pie to try. It was delicious and my first taste of gooseberry pie. It was good, but blackberry is still my favorite. I do love those salmonberries in the PNW though.
After the bakery it was back to the campground to figure out some grilling plans while trying to avoid the weather. We are under a tornado watch until 21:00 and some of the storms could be nasty. It’s not surprising since it is close to 80º F so the air will be unsettled. There are some very nasty-looking storms down in AR/MO/OK/TX. Hopefully those will mellow out.
We got the grill fired up to char some Impossible Burgers, thinking we probably best hurry given the weather forecast. About five minutes after we got done grilling we sat down inside to eat and the skies opened up.
It rained fairly hard for a while so we had conversations the best we could; it gets very loud in a trailer when it rains. When there was a lull in the weather later I went back to my trailer for the evening.
It was time to kick back and watch a movie.
That’s all until tomorrow.
Shawn
