I came across a few travel articles the past few days that I found interesting. I thought that I would share them in this post.
I think we are moving towards a time when travel will require much more planning. Political issues and overtourism are becoming concerns worldwide and anyone who travels anywhere – even domestic travel here in the States (which is a more dangerous place than many other places in the world and there are travel advisories in other countries advising to not come here). I have been to many of these places on road trips.
Road trips are easy – I can just go someplace else. In fact, it’s what I do. I have been all over this country and there are many places I have no desire to go to or I’ve been there, done that, don’t need to do it again.
I thought this article had some interesting things in it about how Americans travel and how travel can change you. This article talks about how safe travel is from a current socio-political standpoint. And this one talks about the overtourism problems and possible solutions, such as restrictions & fees.
These articles are pretty good and have some great information in them. There have been many changes in the world the last few years and there are things we need to consider before we book anything. Yeah, I’d like to go to Ukraine and Hungary but there are some less than ideal conditions there that could potentially spread.
In think I’d buy travel insurance AND a refundable ticket if I were going somewhere on a plane, train, or boat. There will be challenges in finding those “special places” we seek due to those above-mentioned hurdles.
