Things I’ve Seen; Walking

I saw this doormat had the label stapled over the end of “hello”. It made me wonder…does hell have a doormat?
Seems to me “non-GMO” doesn’t matter; with a pile driving 23g of fiber and an awesome name like that it ain’t staying put for very long…

Now that we’ve had cold weather and the parasites are mostly dead, it’s safe to walk around and not worry about ticks or chiggers. I’ve been getting out and back to the pond and wooded area. It feels good to get some walking exercise again.

There’s a bit of work to be done around the pond. First is to clear off the dam and get rid of anything growing. The trees are overtaking everything and are dead & breaking or dying and it’s a mess. I want to be able to access the area and try to make it less hazardous. Plus I want to have a nice place to sit by the pond.

There’s quite a bit of firewood ready to be split back by the woods so I’ll be picking that up. I have more brush I took out in the front yard that needs picked up and hauled back to the brush pile.

Before my heart attack I was walking ten miles a day. In Europe and even trips to Seattle I would walk even further – sometimes 13 miles a day – and it was awesome. I never had any issues so the cardiac event happening was a total surprise. I am very aware of how strenuous things are that I am doing. I don’t take chances.

I do stay pretty busy doing things every day of the week. You can’t just sit…you have to get off your ass and move around. I have been busy doing more cooking, and have started washing windows, dusting and doing some other cleaning.

I made a dump run last week and got rid of more bags outside along with my garbage cans. That was my first garbage run in months. Since I compost and recycle what I can, I have very little garbage. I had my two metal cans filled so I made the best of it and filled up the back of the truck with what I could. I take recycling in every few weeks so it’s one of many things that keeps me busy. There’s definitely plenty to do.

That’s it for this post.
