I’m still hanging out in Montana. It’s sure nice to see the sun, but damn it’s cold. I heard that it was 6 degrees this morning. And that would be Farenheit and NOT Celsius. It snowed here a few days ago and the roads got a little slick with the melt re-freezing every evening and the packed snow on the city streets.

Everyone here is adjusting to the new family life pretty well! It’s been an exciting week here; a new baby and the proud dad got a new job that he’s been working hard to get. I’ll probably be heading homewards in the next few days so I hope the weather holds out. If I don’t make it all the way home I at least want to get past the usual trouble spots that are a couple of high mountain passes. It’s nice to have the flexibility to not HAVE to be somewhere on a schedule. I’m glad that I was able to get here in time!

This was the first trip really giving a decent workout to the new tires that I got last year in Colorado when I was bringing my trailer home. They grabbed fine and did pretty good even without putting it into 4-hi. I really do not miss the snow or this cold weather. Where I live in Washington there isn’t much of that nonsense going on and that’s how I like it!

When I get back Jim and I will resume our few remaining trip preparations. There’s just a few things left to do but we want to get it finished up and we won’t need to worry about it anymore. We are looking at possibly hitting a concert while over there, which would be pretty cool to do. First, I am sure seeing a concert in Europe would be a different experience. Second, it has been decades sine he and I have seen a show together. Thinking back, I believe it was in the early 80s when Jim, his wife Peggy and I saw Rush and Rory Gallagher at Kemper Arena in KC. I don’t do many shows anymore but Jim still goes to some.

Loran showed me quite a few pictures of Europe when he was there and it really got me even more fired up to go. So many beautiful places to see and so much history to ponder…it’s going to be hard to not go everywhere, but we want quality over quantity. I am sure we will both go over again once we get a taste of it!
